HOW TO TAKE PERFECT TRAVEL PHOTOS OF YOU

Nowadays it's a part of our everyday life to see travel photos floating around different social media platforms; Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and so on. People surfing in Australia, petting giraffes in Africa, eating la baguette in Paris, watching the northern lights in Lapland... Then you go on a trip and take a few photos thinking you'll look like one of the Instagram influencers with hundreds of thousands of followers just to realize that you look like a sweaty potato. Sounds familiar? No need to worry, today I'll be giving you a few tips so you can take travel photos like a pro!

1. Do your research

This might sound weird, but it actually makes your life a whole lot easier. If you google "most instagrammable places in ..." you can find sites that list the best photoshoot places! For example, I used this trick when I was in Bucharest, Romania. I found out that there was an alley with umbrellas and a beautiful old library both of which would be perfect for my Instagram photos! Without googling I wouldn't have gone to those places so you really might discover something really really cool!

2. Take pictures during sunrise

The natural light is amazing during the early hours of the morning! In addition, it's good to take pictures in the early morning since all the other tourists are probably sleeping so you can get easier photos without any photobombers! It might be hard to get up so early but it's definitely worth it!

3. Move, move, and move

You may not feel comfortable in front of the camera and that's okay. However, if you just stand there asking "What should I do??" the pictures won't be great. Instead, you should try to move - turn around, flip your hair, take a few steps, place your hand on your hip etc.

It's really important that the photographer keeps taking photos continuously because then you can capture the perfect position. If they take, let's say, five photos you are going to have some trouble choosing from them. It's likely that at least three of those five are unclear, in one you have a weird look on your face, and in one there is a group of tourists behind you. If the photographer takes more photos, like a hundred, there's probably a few great pictures! It'll take more time for you to go through them but you are more likely to get the picture you wanted.

4. Check your equipment

Nowadays phones tend to have wonderful cameras, especially iPhones, but it might be worth it to take an SLR camera with you. At least make sure that you have battery and space in your device because one of the most annoying things is that you're in the middle of a photo shoot and your phone won't take any photos due to "storage full".

5. Take photos with different accessories or details

Anybody can take nice pictures in front of beautiful scenery but to make the pictures stunning, you'll have to stand out from others. So, buy a flower, eat ice cream, create cool shadows on your face, use sunglasses, take a picture with an animal, and so on. There are limitless options on how to create more interesting pictures!

There you go, five tips for you! I hope you liked them and find them useful <3
