TOP 3 THINGS TO SEE IN KRABI, THAILAND

Hi again! It's been a while since I last wrote here since I've been a bit busy. I spent New Year in Thailand with my family - we spent one week in Krabi. After that, I turned eighteen in Singapore where we spent three days! It was such a great journey and I wanted to share some of the most beautiful photos and places with you. So, here are the top 3 places to see in Krabi, Thailand:

1. Phi Phi Islands

These islands, located about 1,5h by boat away from the coast of Thailand, are a place that feels unreal. Huge cliffs climbing up straight from the turquoise water, palm trees on the beaches, corals, fish in all the colors of the rainbow... It's just hard to believe that a place this beautiful exists. One can make a day-trip to these islands or stay for a few nights - there are plenty of hotels in the city of Ton Sai.

I recommend renting a private motorboat because then it's possible to explore these islands in your own schedule. Of course, this is a bit more expensive than attending a group trip but believe me, it's really worth it. We had an eight-person group and rented a boat with two locals. They drove us around from one island to another and we got to choose which ones we wanted to see. We were also able to snorkel in multiple locations and we got to see very beautiful coral and fish. Some of the beaches are kind of crowded since the group trips went there so we didn't go to those. In my opinion, the most beautiful beach was at Maya Bay - some of you might know it from the movie The Beach. Nowadays it's closed in order to protect the environment but the boats can take you to the bay and you can look at the marvelous scenery from there.

2. Tiger Cave Temple

This Buddhist temple is well-known for its huge golden Buddha statue which is located at the top of the mountain. In order to see this Buddha statue, one has to climb over 1,200 stairs. Some of the stairs are very high so the climbing is quite a challenge but it was worth it! The scenery from the top is really beautiful and the climbing makes you feel like you have achieved something.

Since the temperature in Krabi is usually quite high, I recommend that one would go there early in the morning since then the temple is less crowded and it's not too hot. Also, remember to bring plenty of water since it's not possible to buy water on the way up or at the top! And if you are elderly, sick or otherwise unable to complete athletic tasks you shouldn't climb. The way up is quite long and dangerous since some stairs are very high so don't take unnecessary risks. There are also some monkeys so take care of your belongings.

3. Princess Lagoon and Railay Beach

This beautiful paradise is located close to the city of Ao Nang. We went to Princess Lagoon and Railay Beach a few times and it was super easy to take a longtail boat from Ao Nang - just tell the driver where you want to go and they will take you. I recommend stopping first at Princess Lagoon - this beautiful beach is a great place for swimming, relaxing, getting a Thai massage and so on. One should go there in the morning since it's less crowded and usually less windy. If it's very windy the beach will have a lot of sand flying around and then it's not nice to be there.

From Princess Lagoon we walked to Railay Beach, which is a very beautiful beach but it's not that suitable for swimming. If you want to see more of the beautiful scenery you can walk up to the Railay Viewpoint but it's a bit dangerous climb so please be careful. There are also plenty of hotels and restaurants at Railey Beach so one can stay for a few nights.
