FINLAND TOP 5 - what are the best places to visit?

Hi! You requested for this post so today I'll tell you some tips about traveling in Finland. It's a beautiful country where I have lived all my life.

Did you know that in Finland there's more saunas than cars? And that in Finland there's a sauna in a Burger King? Also that Finland is turning 100 this year? Finland is quite unique country and it should be in your travel bucket list!

So I'm listing the best places to visit if you visit Finland though they are not listed in order from best to "worst".

Suomenlinna fortress
1. Helsinki - the beautiful capital
Helsinki is the most popular travel location because of it's easy to fly there and as the capital of Finland it has a lot of things to see. For example Suomenlinna (old fortress in an island next to Helsinki) and the cathedral of Helsinki. Also if you are a fan of theater or art Helsinki is the place to be because there you can see the best theater performs and art galleries. You can read more about Helsinki here.
River Aura in Turku

2. Turku - the summer city
Turku is the old capital of Finland and river Aura runs through it. If you fly to Helsinki I recommend to take a bus or a train to Turku because flying is very expensive and unnecessary. Turku is very beautiful in the summer and you should visit it in summer to see the atmosphere of the most European country of Finland. Also in summer you can attend Ruisrock which is a huge festival in Turku. You can read more about Turku here.

The Moomin World in Naantali
3. The Moomin World
The Moomin World is located in Naantali, next to Turku. Moomins are children characters created by Tove Jansson. The Moomin World is very popular in Japan for example. It's a good place to visit with children, remember to reserve the whole day for it. Also if you are going to visit it in winter it's probably not open - you have to check it from their web page here.

4. Lapland + Santa Claus Village
Lapland is the Northern part of Finland, which can also be called "The winter wonderland". As we know Santa Claus lives in the Northern Finland, near the city of Rovaniemi. The best time to visit it is winter but you can also visit it in summer. Lapland is a must-see and Santa Claus Village is a must-see for kids (and for Christmas lovers). You can see the northern lights, ski, visit spas, enjoy traditional Finnish food and so on. If you want to know more about these, visit here and here.

The Archipelago is a place for many activities - sailing, waterskiing and so on
5. The archipelago
The archipelago starts from Oulu and goes all the way down to Helsinki, but the best place to visit it is to start driving from Turku. You can also take a ferry from Turku or Hanko. The Archipelago Trail is a popular cycling route. But you have to reserve enough time to do the route, it's almost 250km, which includes 9 ferries. Good day trip destinations are Nauvo, Jurmo Örö and Korppoo. You can read more here.
