The States in a month - What places did I visit?

Hello once again! I decided to tell you about my experiences this time. I hope you like it :)

So this summer I was in the United States for a month. It was actually my first time in the States and there was lot of things to see. So, how did we choose where to go?

Our journey began in the beginning of June and we started it by flying to San Francisco, California. We chose San Francisco because it was easy to fly there and it was "the most European city" in the States so we thought that the cultural shock wouldn't be that bad.

The next place where we went was Yosemite National Park because of the unique nature. It was totally worth seeing! If you are going you should totally do the hike to the waterfall, it was absolutely amazing.

After Yosemite we drove to Las Vegas through Death Valley. We chose Death Valley because it was the easiest route to Vegas and we wanted to see the rugged nature of it and experience the heat (+44 celcius!). We arrived in Las Vegas during the sunset which is a must thing to do. In the first place you are driving in the middle of a desert and suddenly you see a huge city with thousands of lights infront of you. That's Las Vegas - the sin city. We chose Vegas because - well, it's Vegas. There is no place like it. You just have to see and feel it.

We did a day trip to Grand Canyon from Las Vegas. It was 9 hours in a car in just one day but it was totally worth it. The Canyon was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. And you can't really understand how deep, wide and long it is. It looks beautiful in the photos but believe me - it's even more beautiful in real life. We chose it because of we really wanted to see it in real life.

The next stop for us was "the City of Angels" - Los Angeles. It's a huge city and moving around there is difficult. You have to have your own car or rental car but then you have a problem with parking (very expensive parking in the center) or you have to take taxi, which is expensive as well. But we went to LA because we wanted to experience the glamour of Hollywood. I can say that LA was a bit of a disappointing for me because it took so much time to go from place to another and it really doesn't have so much to see. But if you go there you should visit the Walk of Fame - it's just must.

After LA we drove the coast back to San Francisco. We slept in Pacific Grove which was a really nice but quiet place - I would totally recommend that. Totally we spent two weeks in the West Coast and then we flew to Florida from San Francisco.

In Florida we firstly drove to Key West. It's a tourist place but still worth seeing. In my opinion it was nice to have some relaxing after the flight from San Francisco. We spent three days in Key West. Oh, and if you go there - go snorkeling! They have such beautiful corals and fish there!

Our next stop was Miami. BEACH. That's the thing of Miami. We basically just swam in the beach and did a bit of shopping. There's a lot of good outlets and shopping centers near Miami so you should check them out. We chose Miami because we had had a lot of cities so it was nice to have some beach as well.

After Miami we went to Orlando. We went there just because of Kennedy Space Center and the Universal Studios. The day in the Universal Studios was like the best day of my life. You have to go there!

From Orlando we flew to New York. Do I really have to tell you why we went to New York? I guess I don't have to. New York is so beautiful and you can actually feel the city breathing. The skyscrapers feel like they are going to fall on you and the Central Park is like a secret garden inside a huge city. The must thing to do in NY is to see a Broadway musical. I know- it is expensive. But still it's absolutely amazing. We saw the Phantom of the Opera and I was singing a song from it for the rest of our trip :D

From New York we flew to London and then back to Finland. It was so fun trip and I can't wait to get to explore the states even more!

I hope you enjoyed the post, sorry it was a bit long
- please ask if you have any questions :)
